Renew Kenton Homes

In 2007 and 2008, Home Forward (formerly the Housing Authority of Portland) sold off much of its single family housing stock. The City of Portland purchased a number of the homes in order to support the renovation of them for affordable home ownership. Albina Construction was selected to renovate and sell nine of the homes, located in the Kenton neighborhood within the Interstate Corridor Urban Renewal Area. We updated these homes by incorporating many green features like refinishing hardwood floors that had been covered, home performance improvements as well as installing Energy Star appliances. All of these homes were completed and sold in 2012, with the partnership of Proud Ground, to families making less than 80% of area median income. The finished homes pictured below are on N Chautauqua, N Drummond, and N Houghton.
